What is the BLOOMbase™?
The BLOOMbase™ is a flowering cake tier that transforms part of a cake into something that lives on long after the celebration. Used exactly like a traditional dummy tier, decorated, stacked, and presented as part of a cake design, it is then planted after the event, where it grows into wildflowers and creates a lasting, living memory for the client.
Built to professional standards, it supports over 10kg when stacked, accepts all standard finishes, and fits into existing cake builds without changing the way you work. Each BLOOMbase™ ships with a full client aftercare pack including planting instructions, a BLOOMboost growth support sachet, and a QR code linking to extended care content so the experience continues well beyond the event.

How It Works
After the event, your client removes any icing, soaks the tier overnight, and plants it in their garden. From there, it grows into wildflowers, turning the cake into a living keepsake.

FAQs
What is the BLOOMbase™ made from? Each tier is constructed from rigid, FSC-certified compostable fibreboard and biodegradable adhesives, with a seed-infused core featuring UK-native wildflower species from DEFRA-registered suppliers.
Is it strong enough for professional cake builds? Yes. The BLOOMbase™ supports 10kg+ when stacked, while remaining lightweight. It has a detachable lid for easier positioning, handling, and storage.
Can I use dowels? Yes. It includes a pre-drilled 10mm central pilot hole for secure dowelling and stacking. The tier can also be punctured by hand using a pointed tool or drill if needed. If the hole is not required, it can be covered with a small piece of tape before decorating.
What finishes are compatible? The BLOOMbase™ has been tested with buttercream, fondant, and ganache. More icing advice is available on the Made With Flower YouTube channel.
Will seeds fall out when I use it? No. Seeds are embedded within a secure internal layer inside the core. There is no loose seed during storage, handling, or decorating.
Is the BLOOMbase™ food safe? As with all non-edible cake dummies, the BLOOMbase™ is not intended for direct food contact. Use a food-safe barrier before applying anything designed for eating.
How does my client plant it? After the event, the BLOOMbase™ can be broken up, soaked in water, and planted in soil or a large planter. Full planting care and guidance is available at madewithflower.com/care

Care Instructions
When caring for and cleaning your products, please use warm soapy water and wipe clean only. Abrasive cloths and detergents should not be used. This item is not suitable for the dishwasher and should not be submerged in water.
Although the highest amount of care has been taken to ensure each product is food-safe and ready for you to use, please wash before first use.

Delivery methods
We have a growing catalogue of ready to send products running parallel to our handmade bespoke service. All products ready to send are despatched next working day via your chosen delivery method.
Made to order and handmade products are indicated by the blue tag at the top of the product information - generally, these are ready to despatch within 3-5 days and they will be sent via your chosen delivery service once made. For rush orders or special requirements, please contact us.
UK Delivery
Within the UK, deliveries will usually take place between 8am and 6pm and all our delivery methods our fully tracked. We offer free UK standard delivery (3-4 days) on orders over £75*. For orders under £75, a £3.95 P&P charge will be applied at checkout. UK orders over £150 benefit from free express delivery (1-2 days).
International Delivery
We ship globally with the majority of orders being despatched via our expedited service with Royal Mail or DHL Express. Orders to the US and Canada can arrive in as little as 2-3 business days, while other international locations take on average 3-5 business days. Please note, delivery times vary depending on your address and are for guidance only.
Returns Policy
We offer the right to return within 14 days of purchase.
You must contact us within 14 days and we must receive your return within 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Please note - return orders may be subject to a £2.00 restock and admin fee. This will be deducted from your refund.
